Why this role exists

Today's venture studios operate with a 20th-century playbook in a 21st-century world. Traditional stage-gate models require 20-week manual cycles where every venture starts from scratch: individual research, isolated conversation analysis, static artifacts that quickly become outdated.

We're revolutionizing this entirely. Our Studio Platform transforms venture creation from linear manual processes to dynamic AI-powered systems. The platform processes thousands of customer conversations across our entire portfolio, automatically updates venture artifacts, and enables cross-venture learning at unprecedented scale.

Where we are now

We've already built working prototypes that demonstrate this vision in action—processing real customer conversations, generating AI insights, and automatically updating venture artifacts. The core technology works, the architecture is proven, and early results show dramatic improvements in venture creation speed and intelligence quality.

Now we're making the move from proof-of-concept to production-scale platform. As Studio Engineer, you'll own and accelerate this transformation—taking our proven prototypes and building the VSI platform. You'll engineer the future by solving cutting-edge problems in AI-powered conversation intelligence and cross-portfolio learning systems.

What you'll do

Build the Intelligence Transformation Engine

• Design scalable AI processing pipelines that enable unlimited conversation processing across the entire portfolio, handling transcription, speaker identification, and insights generation seamlessly

• Build real-time intelligence orchestration that transforms raw conversations into venture intelligence, automatically processing founder discussions into strategic insights

• Engineer portfolio-wide processing capabilities that handle multiple venture conversations simultaneously, turning hours of video/audio into actionable intelligence

Create Cross-Venture Intelligence Networks

• Build AI-powered conversation analysis that identifies speakers, extracts key insights, and surfaces venture-critical patterns across the entire studio portfolio

• Develop living artifact systems where customer conversations automatically update ICPs, competitive analysis, and strategic documents in real-time across all ventures

• Implement cross-portfolio learning algorithms that apply successful patterns from one venture to accelerate others throughout their lifecycle

Build Founder Intelligence Systems

• Create strategic decision dashboards that transform complex AI analysis into clear, actionable insights for venture teams

• Design intelligence recommendation engines that surface market opportunities, partnership possibilities, and strategic pivots based on portfolio-wide conversation patterns

• Build real-time intelligence alerts that notify founders when critical patterns emerge from customer conversations across the studio ecosystem

What we're looking for

• 5+ years experience in software engineering, preferably in SaaS, AI platforms, or real-time systems

• Full-stack expertise with modern web technologies for building real-time intelligence dashboards and seamless user experiences

• Database design experience with real-time subscriptions, access policies, and optimized queries for portfolio-wide conversation intelligence

• Cloud-native deployment experience with serverless architectures and smart routing for environment-specific configurations

• AI integration experience with transcription services, LLM platforms, and ML/AI APIs for conversation processing and insights generation

• Problem-solver who thrives debugging complex async workflows and building resilient intelligence systems

• Excellent communication skills—you document architecture decisions and collaborate effectively on technical challenges
